Personal Story

Being Scared by Something You Can Not Control

My friend called the other day, and was very frustrated, and disappointed.
He was quite upset about something that was going on in his life,
something he could not control. It was something he actually brought into
his path by not taking actions that he should have taken,
on something that he knew he was supposed to take.

He ignored the situation and just went on to continue to move forward,
and then there were consequences to the decisions he chose to do.
And he didn’t like the outcome and had to wait to hear what the final outcome would be.

I Have Another Day - Now What

I got up this morning. I looked out my window. It’s raining, gray, chilly - a little cold out there.

But man, am I glad to be up. I’ve been given another day - another day.

My friend George will always say to me, “Hey, how are you doing.”

And I’ll say, “Good, how are you.”

And he’ll say, “Great. I got up. I got another day.”

Today on my schedule, things are a bit all over the place.
I’m going to be going here, and I’m going to be going there.

A Sign to Pause

There is a certain birdsong, that when I hear it, I pause whatever I am doing,
and say, “Thank you.” I keep repeating this as long as the bird sings.

No one ever told me to do this. I just know to do it.

I am not necessarily thanking the bird, although I include that too,
but I am rather, “giving thanks,” to everything, everybody, everywhere.

You can say I am thanking God, All That Is, the Presence.

Invisible Helpers

What’s an invisible helper?

Some may call an invisible helper God.

Some may call an invisible helper an angel, a loved one who has passed over.

It really doesn’t matter.

It’s whether you think there is someone there to assist you.

I believe, I didn’t always, but I do believe now that there is a presence always there to help me.

So what I do in my life, is that I call upon that helper.

I think of that helper sitting beside me at work in a chair.

I think of that helper as someone with me in my car when I am driving somewhere.

I'm Always Receiving

I was thinking in my life I wasn’t receiving things.

And I felt stuck.

And one day, a good friend of mine called me on the phone, and as we were talking, she said, “You’re not stuck. Try this. It worked for me, and I think it will work for you too. Try saying, ‘I am always receiving.’” I thought about it, and said, “What the heck, I’ll try it and see if it works.”

So the very next day when I woke up, the very first thing I said was, “I’m always receiving.”

Vaporize Negative Thoughts

When something is bothering me, I mean really bothering me, I say, "Please bless my thoughts."

I stay with the intention for about 20 seconds, letting it do its miracle, seeing the thoughts become a misty fog - clearing, clearing, cleared. My mind feels absolutely clear, sort of illuminated, as if that is the way it was meant to be. It's like the thoughts were literally vaporized by the sheer and total benevolence of Spirit. If you don't like the word "bless", you can say, "Please harmonize my thoughts." It works just as well.

Opening A Pathway of Peace

Whenever I am in the car, and about to enter a busy place,
I always say, "Thank you for allowing peace in the traffic."
Feel it, even a little.

Almost every single time, and I mean 100's upon 100's,
there is a gap in the traffic when I get there.
I usually see a large block of cars that have just gone by,
and another block approaching in the distance, but for me,
there is clearly a nice, wide open space, right at that moment.
I believe that everyone involved has either slowed down or
sped up, to open the gap just for me.
