Dr Russell Rising - Exercise Is Everything

Dr Russell: I am Dr Russell Rising. I have a PHD in Nutrition and Physiology, and I can tell you one thing. Exercise is everything. I have friends that are older than me. For example, my partner in tennis is 81. We played tennis yesterday in 100 degrees for 2 hours.

So, the next person who whines about age, I’ll shoot them, because he is 81 and in great shape.

I’m 67. The same as that lady over there that you just interviewed.

The 5 Year Vision of Flow Kakou

Introduction
John:

Matt, what do you see what you are doing. Let’s say, if you could go into the future about 5 years from now. What would you like to have happen, with all the effort you are putting into traveling to all these cities, meeting all these people, and putting yourself out so everyone gets a chance to personally, see, feel, sense, who you are and what you are about?

Food For Thought

Hi, my name is Amla Mehta and I’m a speaker, author, and teacher.

I’ve written two of my own books and one of my books is called Amla Speaks 365. There are 365 reflections in this book.

I’m going to read the passage from "Reflection 236." The theme is called “Food for Thought.”

“Why do we as humans question when we are sad or unhappy. When we are happy, we usually accept the feeling with open arms. Throughout the process of self-realization, one must accept the positive and negative thoughts, emotions, and feelings equally to maintain equanimity.”

Retired People Need A Project

Retired people need to do a number of things to stay healthy. We need to exercise, eat right, get enough sleep, and stay involved. The last one of these is my topic today. We need to have one or more projects to be passionate about. Mine include serving on a committee for my condo association, volunteering for a local arts organization, and working on Heart Speak. Between these three activities and a few others that I do, I am as busy now as when I was working full-time to make a living.

Money Management

One of the key things that retired people have to do to maintain a healthy lifestyle is staying busy. Watching TV all day, every day, is a recipe for decay and decline. This is something that working people sometimes have difficulty understanding - because they have to be busy every day, it can be hard to grasp how important it is to remain occupied when work does not fill the day.

Vitamin D

Hi, it's Marilyn Fuller again - nurse and life coach.

I received in my mailbox a newspaper: "The Epoch Times" - E-p-o-c-h. I'm really intrigued with this newspaper - it's more like a Scientific American. And the subject I'm going to talk to you about today is why are you so vitamin D deficient?

And because a statistical error has reduced our daily requirement dose of the sunshine vitamin, to our detriment, don't go to your primary [physician], who will get a blood level test, because they're inaccurate.

Inflammation

Hi, it's Marilyn Fuller, nurse and life coach.

I'm going to talk to you about Inflammation, and that leads to chronic illness.

According to Dr Barry Sears, who wrote "The Wellness Zone", inflammation leads to chronic illness.

So, disease comes in 3 stages: first you have wellness, then you have cellular inflammation, and then you get chronic disease.

Natural Healing Sounds

Birds singing, trickling water, crickets humming – I’ve found these sounds to be powerfully healing.

I use muscle testing, also known as kinesiology, to see the healing power of sounds, measured on a scale of 1 to 10.

The crows, the hawks and the sparrows all – all birds – the peacock, the gentle “cooaw cooaw” of the chicken – these all give a power of 10 healing sound.

And trickling water too. I am always drawn to tickling water, in a fountain, in a brook – so meditative, so healing.
