Anxiety

How to Stop the Overwhelm

Overwhelmed? Too many things to do? Like an endless list, with things that put themselves back on the list every month, every week, every day?

I did.

Then one day, I said that from now on I would honor this list all morning, but come lunch, I am free for the rest of the day to do what I want. Sort of “give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” And to me what is mine: peace of mind.

I need to honor my own needs, not just the needs the modern world places upon me.

Sensing Books

I am drawn to thin books. Books you can read in one or two sittings. With pictures or a fancy border – like an ancient manuscript – decorated. And a hard cover with cloth, where you can feel the weave.

Others may enjoy epic novels of a thousand pages – not I. Maybe it’s me wanting to “know” the whole book at once – no need of bookmarks for me.

Come to the Lake of Calm

Come to the lake of calm. It sits there open to you.

You will not find it in travel books, nor upon any map ever made.

Because you do not “go there,” but rather “tune-in,” like dialing a radio station.

Many of us keep this place ready for you. Holding a space of pure peace.

Thousands, if not tens of thousands, if not far more, offer this collective vision. We pour out thought-power, our peaceful energy, our imagination into this “place,” this little realm, if you want to call it that.

We combine our thought focus to offer this.

Out of Control

Have you ever felt that your life was completely out of control? So out of control that you thought you would never get it back again? That's what drug addiction can do. I've been there. It was a long time ago but it changed my life.

In my case, the drug was Xanax. Xanax is a benzodiazepine, a class of super-addictive medications used to treat anxiety. Valium, Lorazepam, and Klonopin are other benzodiazepines. Xanax was prescribed for me by a doctor who did not take the time to explain how to use it. By misusing it, I became addicted.

Anxiety

I’d like to talk about a subject that many patients are bothered by, and that is anxiety, either at work, with family, relationships, friends, whatever.

There’s a point on your ear, on the topmost of your ear, there’s a “v”. That is your anxiety point. If you take your left hand and put it on your ear point, that is where this point is.

Worry - What Will It Get Me?

Worry. Why worry?

Someone shared something about that and said, “If you ever sit in a rocking chair, you just rock. It kind of takes you nowhere. You just rock - just rocking.”

And worry is the same kind of thing. It kind of takes you nowhere. It’s just leaving you in a state of fear, or panic. It’s just not positive energy, more of a negative energy.

So if you are going to feel anything, then think about anything leaning towards hope, and faith, and possibility. And that things will work out. And that all will be okay.
