Introduction by Phil
Many years ago, a co-worker of mine said that his mission in life was to great as rich as possible, and would often tell us what big deal he was working on at the time. This song is dedicated to him, and “no”, I don’t know if he ever got rich.
The actual song itself is available only in spoken form, as requested by Philip.
Response by John
In response to Phil’s, There’s a Big Deal Cookin’ Somewhere, as a salesman for a good part of my life, I relate to that story. Always looking for the deal. I got a kick out of you go to the racetrack, put down your money, and put your money on the wrong race. I think we all do that a lot. We find ourselves where we know we got it right. We’re going to make the big deal. We’re going to do something to impress people and ourself. Something always goes wrong and that bag of magic tricks doesn’t work for us. But it is an eternal optimist story. And I love it. That was a great story, Phil.
